Recommendations - August 2008

New York, NY

  • The Loeb Boathouse - It had been over three years since I spent a summer weekend in New York City. But a few weeks ago, that record ended. A summer of weddings caught up with me, and I needed time to just not move anywhere. No flights to catch. No suits to get fitted. It was me and the city. I stayed in the city this past weekend as well. A failed shopping trip in SoHo resulted in an impromptu trip to the Loeb Boathouse, just in time to miss an amazing evening rainstorm. We stayed and ordered a bottle of champagne and watched the rain bands cross the lake.
  • acerno - I work for these guys. We also have a new website. Oh, and I got a new job there too.
  • Lenny's - Best seafood in all of Connecticut? Probably.
  • Mad Men - It earned such praise, and was the closest approximation to my job on television that I bought the 1st season sight unseen. Luckily, it turned out to be a great show.
  • YesButNoButYes - There's this guy, right? And, well, he writes for this blog. He get's paid to write for it. And the more people who read it, the more money he makes.
  • Wilcox Fine Art - I lived with this artist for nine months in a very warm climate.
  • MobileMe Photo Gallery - Need some Adam picture fix and need it all the time? Head to this gallery where I upload photos I've taken from my iPhone. (It's also been added to the sidebar.)
  • Marley & Me - This book had been sitting on my shelf for a few years and I finally decided to read it. And spent the last few chapters holding back tears so as not to freak out my fellow passengers on my return from vacation.
  • Videos - I've put some new videos up on my YouTube site.
  • Grom - Best gelato in the world? Definitely.

Tim's Wedding

New York, NY It's official. Tim and Sarah are married. My official duties as a best-man are over. At least until I need to bail their kids out of jail or fix their snow blower. Despite a nasty storm, the wedding was just about perfect. No one died. No one fell ill. And a great time was had by all. So, here are some photos that their official photographer took (you'll know which ones they are as they look ridiculously good) as well as some that Jas and I took. Most of these are of the groomsmen as the official site (click on the picture of the women for a slideshow) has MUCH better photos and it's too hard to pick out the best ones to put up here.

Tom and I huddled around the beer cooler during the rehearsal dinner.

This is probably the first time the Uhrynowski brothers have worn the same outfit since 1983.

Most of the groomsmen before heading off to the ceremony.

Just after the ceremony and on the harbor.

And now for the videos...
